About exhibition

The "Fortress of Spirit" project was prepared by the Belgorod local branch of the All‑Russian public organization of veterans (pensioners) of war, labour, the armed forces and law enforcement agencies and by the Belgorod Art Museum. The project was implemented using a grant from the President of the Russian Federation for the implementation of projects in the field of culture, art and creative (artistic) industries in 2025. The exhibition is formed from the museum's collection. Visitors will see painting and graphic works by outstanding Russian artists of the 20th century: the brothers A. and S. Tkachev, A. Mikhailov, V. Pereyaslavets, N. Solomin, A. Pakhomov, A. Akritas, and others. The works celebrate the finest qualities of the Russian national character: unparalleled bravery and determination, breadth and daring. These qualities are reflected not only in images of warriors but also in the lives of ordinary Russian people—residents of towns, villages and monasteries—who, in harsh times, stood up to defend their land.
