About exhibition

The largest hall of the museum is dedicated to an exhibition on space exploration. In the town of Nikolaevsk, Yuri V. Malyshev, twice Hero of the Soviet Union and pilot-cosmonaut, was born and raised; he is the only cosmonaut from Volgograd Oblast. The exhibition occupies an area of 120 sq. m. More than 1,000 unique exhibits are on display — photographs and collections of Yuri V. Malyshev's souvenirs that have been to low Earth orbit (a spacesuit, the prophylactic suit 'Penguin-3', tools, the cosmonaut seat 'Lozhement'). It will be an unforgettable journey through the space hall.
