Exhibition 'Urban Estate Complex'

About exhibition

Self-guided introduction to the exhibition of the Urban Estate Complex — one of the rare surviving monuments of wooden architecture in northern Russia. Its original appearance has been restored from the original drawings. The complex includes a residential house, a barn and a gate. It is an example of a typical urban estate of the late 19th century. The estate complex features the characteristic set of outbuildings and a traditional layout. The kitchen, bedroom, study and parlor — four rooms — are furnished with antique furniture and items from the 18th–19th centuries. A particular pride is the two stoves: a Dutch stove and a traditional Russian stove. The exhibition displays authentic exhibits from the second half of the 19th century. Visiting the complex allows you to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of past centuries, view old photographs and reflect on the transience of time... The second part of the house includes equipped rooms for club activities. In the historic interior master classes, creative meetings and themed festivities such as "Svyatochnaya Week" (Christmas Week), "Easter Week", fairs and other folk celebrations in the style of those times are held. Theatrical guided tours can be arranged by prior request.
