About exhibition

This significant event in the cultural life of the Komi Republic will take place on International Museum Day. The focus is the artistic image of the Komi region, embodied in works by masters of professional fine arts of the Komi Republic from the second half of the 20th to the early 21st century. The space of each of the four halls is devoted to one of the leading themes of regional art: the majestic natural landscapes of the North; the tragedy and heroism of settling a harsh land; the legends and traditions of the Komi people; and the traditional world of the northern village. The visual programme is supplemented by video and audio, as well as installations that enhance the emotional impact of the artistic imagery through sound, animation, documentary film footage, and artefacts. During renovation work, access to the exhibition for people with disabilities and other mobility-impaired groups is limited.
