Exhibition "When Stone Was Iron"
About exhibition
The exhibition project consists of three sections: 'Early Paleolithic', 'Middle Paleolithic' and 'Late Paleolithic'. Each has its own collection of objects, a video that plays on a tablet, an interactive component, and an information panel. The object displays feature the most distinctive forms of tools that existed during the respective historical periods. In the interactive part of each section visitors can try themselves as prehistoric people and work with tools from different Paleolithic eras. In the 'Early Paleolithic' section you can chop wood with handaxes from various periods, including a real axe with a stone blade. In the 'Middle Paleolithic' section visitors are invited to test hunting with a spear fitted with a flint tip. In the 'Late Paleolithic' section visitors can fire an arrow with a stone tip to see the effectiveness of this type of weapon, and also try tools from the later Stone Age: knives, scrapers and burins.
