Exhibition "When Trees Were Small and Animals Were Large"
About exhibition
The exhibition provides an overview of the Earth's glacial epochs and offers a detailed account of the most recent glaciation, which affected nature worldwide and, in particular, determined the climatic features and established the natural landscapes and the composition of plant and animal life in Western Siberia. The display presents the remains of extinct animals that inhabited the territory of Western Siberia 300–500 thousand, or even up to 2 million, years ago. These unique exhibits were collected during archaeological expeditions in the Tarsky District of the Omsk Region in 1995–2002. The exhibition's content is based on research by outstanding Russian and international scientists.
