Exhibition "Kamennaya Mohyla: From Prehistory to the Middle Ages"

About exhibition

The exhibition highlights the history and research of the unique archaeological site Kamennaya Mohyla, familiarizes visitors with the material and spiritual culture of distant ancestors, the petroglyphs of ancient artists that reflect their worldview and perception of the surrounding world, as well as with archaeological museum objects that are material witnesses to a prolonged historical period in the Northern Azov region. The exhibition will use museum collections from the reserve's holdings (ancient tools, ceramic vessels, sandstone sculptures of lions, bears, fish, as well as anthropomorphic archaic stelae, etc.), originals of drawings on sandstone slabs — concretions — and copies of drawings from the grottoes and caves of Kamennaya Mohyla, dated from the Late Paleolithic (22,000–16,000 BCE) to the Bronze Age (2nd millennium BCE) and the Middle Ages.
