Exhibition “Izh Motorcycles”
About exhibition
The “Izh” motorcycles are a unique historical-industrial brand of Udmurtia and the city of Izhevsk. In 2018 it was the 130th anniversary of the birth of P. V. Mozharov, the designer and founder of the “Izh” motorcycle brand, and the 85th anniversary of the founding of the Izhevsk State Motorcycle Plant named after the All-Russian Society “Avtodor”, which produced pre-war serial “Izh” motorcycles; today it is JSC Izhevsk Motozavod “Aksion Holding”. The exhibition presents production models of “Izh” motorcycles from the 1930s to the 2000s from the museum’s collections and private collections of motorcyclists from the “Izh. Izhevsk” community. But the exhibition is not just a display of motorcycle technology; it also gives an impression of life around motorcycles in different historical eras. Visitors will see a reconstruction of designer P. V. Mozharov’s workspace and can experience the biker subculture of Izhevsk in the late 1980s. More details about the exhibition are on the museum’s website.
