Since 1967 the Leningrad State Design and Survey Institute of Transport Construction (Lengiprotrans) has been the chief designer of the BAM section from Chara in Zabaykalsky Krai to Tynda in Amur Oblast, with a length of 630 kilometers. The documents and photographs presented at the exhibition tell the story of the hard work of the surveyors and designers of the Central section of the Baikal–Amur Mainline — the specialists of the Lengiprotrans institute. When and where the expeditions were based, what they did, who led them — you can learn about this and much more by viewing the museum’s new exhibition. A significant place among the exhibits is occupied by the artistic photographs of Valery Kondratenko, whose camera captured the working days and moments of rest of the members of Lengiprotrans’s survey parties. In the 1980s Valery Terentyevich donated a collection of his unique photographs to the Tynda Municipal Museum.
