Exhibition: Ivan Makarov — "The Sister Girls"
About exhibition
As part of the project "Meeting with One Painting," the museum presents a copy of Ivan Makarov's painting "The Sister Girls" accompanied by the film "Portrait's Charming Features." Filming took place in Saint Petersburg at the All‑Russian A.S. Pushkin Museum and the State Russian Museum, in the halls of the K.A. Savitsky Penza Art Gallery, and in Narovchat at the Pushkin Center named after N.N. Pushkina‑Lanskaya. The film interweaves two storylines: the history of the portrait of the Arapov sisters, Liza and Natasha, and the history of the portrait of Natalya Nikolaevna Pushkina‑Lanskaya by Makarov. The cast features actors from the Penza Drama Theater. The role of the presenter is played by the well‑known actor Pavel Tachkov. He emphasizes that for him this is not work but a pleasure to take part in this project. The original portrait of the Arapov sisters is housed in the Penza Regional Art Gallery named after K.A. Savitsky.
