Exhibition “History of Vologda Cinema and Film Distribution”
About exhibition
The exhibition is dedicated to the Soviet era and film production. Here you can see rare exhibits: film projectors “Rus”, “Raduga” (Rainbow), “Ukraina”, “23KPK” and “KN-17N”. Also on display are movie posters, stills from Soviet films, a film inspection table and a film collection numbering more than 700 copies. The exhibition contains archival documents from the 1940s–1950s, equipment for film repair and inspection, and footage of Vologda director Yu. D. Polovnikov. Visitors can view a panel with photographs of actors and camera operators who participated in the Great Patriotic War, and Soviet record players. Some projectors are in working order, allowing visitors to see them in operation or try their hand as projectionists. Guests can learn about the film distribution process: what equipment was used to screen films, how film stock was inspected, and how the projection booth operated.
