Visitors to the exhibition can stroll through the displays of the Museum of the Northwestern Front, learn about the history of the front formation during the Great Patriotic War, and trace the course of military operations from the first day of the war to victory. The exhibition highlights the special role of Staraya Russa during the fierce fighting. Guests will see materials on all types of forces deployed to the Northwestern Front, the partisan movement and the underground, and the life of the local population in the frontline zone. These include documents and photographs, books, newspapers, leaflets, posters, weapons and ammunition, items of military life, letters, personal effects and awards of participants. With their help it is possible to analyze the front's combat operations, to see human destinies, and to shed light on negative phenomena in military history.
