Exhibition "History of the Russian Soul"
About exhibition
In honor of the 130th anniversary of Sergei Yesenin's birth, the museum is opening the exhibition "History of the Russian Soul", prepared jointly with the Moscow State Museum of Sergei Yesenin and the Ryazan Historical and Architectural Museum‑Reserve. The exhibition offers an unvarnished look at the poet's biography — tracing his swift journey from the Ryazan village of Konstantinovo to the thunderous Moscow and the urban Petrograd. The visual program is built on archival materials: Ryazan provided an extensive collection of archive photographs, while Moscow contributed a unique video sequence filmed by documentary director Salom Konstantinov. In total, visitors will see around one hundred photographs, many of which will be "brought to life" through contemporary audio and video installations. The exhibition's central authentic artifacts come from the personal collection of Alexei Leonidovich Kazakov. Visitors will see prized items such as the poet's death mask, a bust, and a collection of editions of his books published during his lifetime.
