Political exile is a concept that provokes mixed opinions in many people. Who were the exiles? Criminals or fighters for the truth? Who were the first exiles in the territory of the Bratsk Volost? After all, one did not necessarily have to be a criminal to be sent into Siberian exile. In the 17th century Siberian exile was more often seen as an opportunity to settle new lands rather than as a punitive measure. The exhibition will feature unique historical documents, photographs, and biographies of people who made a great contribution to the region's development and who came to the region as a result of court decisions.
