Exhibition “History and Archaeology of the Town of Klin in the 14th–18th Centuries”

About exhibition

The core of the exhibition consists of archaeological finds unearthed in the Klin area that attest to the town’s development over nearly five centuries: from a frontier fortress of the Principality of Tver to a postal relay station (yam). Visitors can see the offensive and defensive weapons of the Russian warrior, a hoard of coins, a tombstone slab, antique ceramics and other items of medieval culture. The collection is complemented by a reproduction of Meyerberg — the very first image of Klin — numerous accounts about the town by traveling foreigners, and objects illustrating the development of the yam postal service.
