Exhibition "History of City A"
About exhibition
The Abakan Art Gallery named after F.E. Pronskikh presents the first permanent exhibition from its collection. The collections were assembled by F.E. Pronskikh during his lifetime and were donated to the city of Abakan in 1998. The collection comprises about 3,000 works of art: paintings, graphic works, photography, sculpture, and items of decorative and applied arts. The exhibition hall "Chyltis" will display the most valuable works depicting the history of Abakan's development, the culture and ethnic uniqueness of Khakassia's inhabitants. Visitors will enjoy how artists celebrate the native steppe expanses, the high ridges of the Sayan Mountains, and the impenetrable taiga forests. The exhibition also includes works gifted by artists from various regions of the country. The variety of techniques, the high level of craftsmanship, and the distinctive hand of masters who created in the name of and for the benefit of their native land inspire admiration. The presented collection fully reveals the long and complex process of its formation and reflects the importance of its appearance for the cultural heritage of the city and the republic.
