About exhibition

Understated northern nature, the calm and lyrical landscape of the Russian plain are the subjects of the landscape painters' works in the exhibition. Together with the artists we admire the humble cottages scattered on the hills among endless forests; from afar we sink into contemplation of domes and the outlines of fortresses. Some canvases are filled with a special warmth and sunlight, creating an atmosphere of lightness, soulfulness, and good spirits! Warm, cozy scenes, the play of light — so different at sunrise, at sunset, in frost, through the fog... The paintings seem transparent and as if glowing from within, each like a small world. Here you will also find old Valdai streets, colorful sunsets and sunrises, cozy church domes, delicate wildflowers, noble roses and peonies — everyone will find something close and familiar to their taste.
