Exhibition "Sister Cities"

About exhibition

The exhibition is located in the museum's Japanese Hall and tells the story of the friendship between the town of Zheleznogorsk-Ilimsky and the Japanese city of Sakata. In the display visitors can see photographs showing views of Sakata and its sights, and learn interesting facts about the city's historical and cultural events. In the hall's showcases are items that bear witness to the history of the relationship between the two cities: a photograph of the moment the sister-city agreement was signed and the text of that agreement; evidence of sporting and cultural exchanges between delegations of the twin cities—medals and trophies, musical and dance items; as well as gifts from Japanese delegations over the years: gifts of nature, children's toys, national costumes and footwear, traditional souvenirs and works of art, city symbols and much more.
