The exhibition will introduce the history of the construction of the city of Shelekhov and the pioneer of the aluminum industry in Eastern Siberia — the Irkutsk Aluminum Plant — as well as the first builders who came from various cities across the country. On March 10, 1960, by decision of the Komsomol, the plant's construction was declared an All-Union Komsomol shock-construction project, and on September 10, by decree of the Council of Ministers, a construction project of special national importance. Historical documents tell about the founding and development of the enterprises and institutions of this industrial city in the Irkutsk region. The exhibition features photographs and documents about the start of construction on the lands of the sovkhoz named after Kuybyshev, Komsomol travel vouchers for the youth who came to build the plant, and product samples from the precast concrete plant and the woodworking plant. You will find Komsomol leaflets, archival documents, and samples of the first products of the Irkutsk Aluminum Plant. In the photographs, visitors will see how the city's appearance changed over the years.
