Exhibition "Arkady Golikov from Arzamas"

About exhibition

The exhibition is housed in the original home of former townswoman A. I. Babaykina, built in the 1870s. It consists of four memorial rooms: a parlor, a children's room, the parents' bedroom and the kitchen. Visitors will see furniture, household items and belongings of the Golikov family, which represent the early 20th-century interior and still retain the warmth and coziness of the family hearth and the sense of the owners' presence. In this house, to the delightful sounds of the harmonium, wonderful evenings were held, plays and Christmas concerts were staged; here Arkady Golikov struggled over lines of poetry, entrusted his thoughts to letters to his father at the front, and in his dreams transported himself to distant countries.
