Exhibition "The Heroes of Saltykov-Shchedrin Through the Eyes of Soviet Artists"
About exhibition
The exhibition is timed to the 200th anniversary of the birth of writer M. E. Saltykov-Shchedrin — the author of sharp satirical works. His writings, filled with incisive criticism of social vices, remain relevant to this day. The exhibition features illustrations by the artistic collective Kukryniksy for "The History of a Town" — one of the author's best-known works; illustrations for the novel "The Golovlyov Family" by well-known Soviet graphic artists and masters of book illustration V. A. Milashevsky, D. G. Oboznenko, and V. D. Medvedev, which convey the emotional atmosphere and visualize the main characters of the work. The exhibition also includes an album of linocuts by M. A. Taranov created for the tale "The Story of How One Man Fed Two Generals".
