Exhibition «Fedoskino — The Birthplace of Russian Lacquerware»
About exhibition
The Moscow-region village of Fedoskino is often called the birthplace of Russian lacquerware. The works of its craftsmen can be found around the world. These small papier-mâché items, painted by artists, sometimes tell more about Russia and its talented people than any words can. The exhibition allows visitors to explore the key milestones in the history and development of the Moscow-region lacquer craft. An astonishing collection of boxes, snuffboxes, caskets, and teapots will introduce visitors to the origins of a unique phenomenon of folk art — lacquer miniature painting.
