About exhibition

The exhibition is dedicated to the International Day for Monuments and Sites, which is observed on April 18. Architect F. E. Volsov (1879–1945) made a significant contribution to the preservation of Ulyanovsk's heritage. He campaigned to save the Trinity Cathedral on Cathedral Square. Together with other enthusiasts, Volsov managed to save from demolition the monument to N. M. Karamzin, the fence of the N. Ya. Shatrov mansion, and a number of other historical and artistic objects. The exhibition will feature authentic items from the collections of the Rodina V. I. Lenin museum-reserve: photographs, documents, building plans and drawings, and the architect's personal belongings.
