Exhibition “Ekaterina Severgina. On the Way”
About exhibition
The exhibition of painting and graphics “Ekaterina Severgina. On the Way” is dedicated to the anniversary of Ekaterina Severgina, a member of the Union of Artists of Russia. Visitors will see works from the museum’s collections and the artist’s private collection. In 1999 Ekaterina Severgina graduated from the Perm State Institute of Art and Culture, majoring in Painting. In 2013 she settled in Belgorod and tied her life and work to the city. She works in oil painting, watercolor, pencil and tempera. She actively participates in exhibitions and undertook internships in the creative studios of the Russian Academy of Arts in the Urals, the Far East and Siberia. The artist’s works are distinguished by graceful lyricism of subjects and a delicate color palette. Since 2012 she has been engaged in monumental painting and church mural work. In her easel practice she creates narrative-thematic compositions, landscapes and portraits. The portrait genre plays a special role in her oeuvre. While conveying the sitter’s external likeness, Ekaterina Gennadievna strives to peer into the souls of her subjects. Often the subjects of her works are children and family members (“Portrait of a Daughter”, “Braids”). The exhibition presents about 25 works by Ekaterina Severgina, created between 1997 and 2025.
