Exhibition 'The Breath of Bronze. Sculpture by Boris Cherstvy'
About exhibition
A tactile exhibition within the exhibition program 'The Language of Sculpture in Braille'. The exhibition — where all works may be touched by hand — is primarily intended for people with low vision and the blind, that is, those who are unable to see works of art, as well as for anyone who wishes to touch sculpture. The 'Language of Sculpture in Braille' program is a partnership project of the State Tretyakov Gallery and the Association of Moscow Sculptors. Within this program, exhibitions featuring masters such as Lazar Gadaev, Leonid Baranov, Georgy Frangulyan, Mikhail Dronov and many others have already been held in the museum building on Krymsky Val. The new project is dedicated to the memory of Boris Cherstvy (1950–2020), the long-time curator of the 'Language of Sculpture in Braille' program. He occupies a special place among the most prominent Moscow sculptors of the late 20th and early 21st centuries. His works are distinguished by philosophical depth, often noted by critics, and the highest level of professionalism. Boris Cherstvy has received honors from the Russian Academy of Arts, as well as the 'In the Name of Life on Earth' order from the public charitable movement 'Kind People of the World'. The exhibition will take place at Krymsky Val 10, mezzanine, 1st floor.
