Exhibition "Two-Storey Mansion with a Mezzanine"
About exhibition
The street of the urban complex is formed by several buildings constructed in the early 20th century. Among them, a two-storey residential building is notable for combining architectural devices of the 19th and early 20th centuries. Its volumetric-spatial composition, typical for an urban residential house, is complemented by a rich and varied treatment of all facade elements. The cladding of the walls, cornices, and the trims of the balcony and entrance are decorated with distinctive sawn carving. The elaborate decorative work was executed using new techniques that became widespread after the construction of the Trans-Siberian Railway. The two-storey mansion with a mezzanine, divided into two parts by a formal porch with a canopy supported on turned columns, terminates the city street. The mezzanine's pediment, cornice, and columns are richly carved. It currently houses the museum administration.
