Exhibition "The Gentry's Drawing Room"
About exhibition
The Belokalitvinsky Historical and Local History Museum invites visitors to view the exhibition "The Gentry's Drawing Room." In accordance with the customs of a noble household, the spacious hall's windows open onto the museum's cozy courtyard, lush with greenery, just beyond which the Kalitva River ripples. Antique mirrors on the walls visually enlarge the space, adding light and air. The exhibition comprises more than one hundred exhibits donated by caring residents of Belaya Kalitva and visitors to the district. Visitors' attention is especially drawn to a working gramophone from the early 20th century, a writing desk from the late 19th century, 19th-century French mantel clocks, a Mercedes typewriter made in Germany in the early 20th century, a 19th-century German piano, the costume of the wife of the last ataman of the Ust-Belokalitvinskaya stanitsa, Krivorogova, from the early 20th century, a women's wedding costume from the late 19th century, a Viennese chair from the early 20th century, and others. Work to expand the exhibition continues. The museum specialists are pleased to welcome guests to the Gentry's Drawing Room.
