Exhibition "Roads of Achievement"

About exhibition

An exhibition opens at the Ryazan Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birth of pilot-cosmonaut, twice Hero of the Soviet Union, flight engineer of the spacecraft Soyuz-22 and the transport spacecraft Soyuz T-2, Vladimir Viktorovich Aksyonov (1935–2024). V. V. Aksyonov’s professional path is rich in events. Flights into space as a flight engineer, work at the Yuri A. Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center, participation in the preparation of crews for new spaceflights, and his leadership of the State Research Center for the Study of Natural Resources — all are part of the cosmonaut’s long life journey. The exhibition will display items from the museum-reserve’s collection: photographs, a flight jacket, a painted portrait of the cosmonaut by People's Artist of Russia A. M. Titov, a sports medal depicting Vladimir Aksyonov, and the sculpture "Space Glove." The Gorbunov workshop provided a bust of V. V. Aksyonov for the exhibition. This exhibition is a joint project of the Ryazan Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve, the Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics in Moscow, and the K. E. Tsiolkovsky Museum of Cosmonautics (village of Izhevskoye, Ryazan Region).
