Exhibition "The House That Karenina Built"

About exhibition

The house-museum is a wooden dacha in Bolshevo (a district of Korolyov), built to a design by architect A. V. Shchusev. The museum's exhibition includes works by artists V. D. Polenov, R. R. Falk, K. A. Korovin, M. A. Voloshin, L. O. Pasternak, as well as personal belongings and rare photographs autographed by M. N. Yermolova, A. A. Yablochkina, M. A. Chekhov, F. I. Chaliapin, N. A. Obukhova, and B. L. Pasternak. S. N. Durylin joked that his house was "built" by Karenina: he received a fee for staging Leo Tolstoy's novel "Anna Karenina", and the money went toward building the house.
