Exhibition 'Tchaikovsky and the World'
About exhibition
The exhibition reveals the components of the great artist's life: an active dialogue with the surrounding world and his private life. The first section of the exhibition focuses on the personality of Pyotr Ilyich, his character, the features of his everyday life, and his interactions with relatives. The second section is devoted to the composer's diverse musical, artistic, and social contacts. The exhibition widely presents the composer's manuscript legacy: scores of his works and literary manuscripts. Among the items of particular pride are the composer's Bible, which was his personal reference book, the old wardrobe that Pyotr Ilyich moved from apartment to apartment, a cigarette case gifted by his brother Modest, and a silver pen. The exhibition concept is realized using contemporary means of communication. The immersive effect and special emotional impact are achieved through an integrated approach to the artistic design of the space. Bright, contrasting colors are used in the design of the exhibition displays, in particular those preferred by the composer. Enlarged lines from his well-known works are quoted on the walls.
