Exhibition "Tkachev Brothers. 20th Century"
About exhibition
The exhibition introduces the multifaceted collaborative creative path of the Tkachev Brothers. The works, painted at different times, are devoted to simple human values: loyalty to the land and homeland, respect for labor, and the pursuit of beauty and spiritual perfection. The paintings by A.P. and S.P. Tkachev will acquaint visitors with the artists' memories of their 'small homeland'. Vividly portrayed are the village of Chuchunovka, Molotino, Vshchizh, the village of Ovstug, and Bezhitsa — beloved corners of their native land. The artists' works, executed in the style of the Russian realist school of painting, today serve as important documentary evidence of national history and of the Russian people's difficult and eventful fate. The subjects of the Tkachev brothers' paintings move the viewer by their truthfulness; they are not invented but taken from life. These are simple workers who inspire sympathy through their love of the land and of labor.
