Exhibition 'The Chekhov Brothers'
About exhibition
The exhibition 'The Chekhov Brothers' offers a new perspective on the life and work of Anton Pavlovich Chekhov — through the fates of his brothers. It presents a story of love and loss, mutual support and creativity, and of how family shapes a person and how a person shapes their great legacy. The exhibition displays memorial items from A. P. Chekhov's family, including an original example of his signature, photographs, letters, and magazines featuring works by the classic himself as well as by his brothers. The exhibition's design recreates the atmosphere of the family hearth and features sketches by Nikolai Chekhov that adorn the exhibition space. The layout was created by Konstantin Kolupaev, a member of the Union of Artists of Russia, and Sakhalin artist Ekaterina Florinskaya.
