Exhibition 'Autobiography'
About exhibition
Founded in 1872 by scientists and engineers with the support of the state and patrons, the Polytechnic has, throughout its long history, experienced reforms, industrialization and world wars alongside the country, never ceasing its work and informing visitors at exhibitions and lectures about the invention of radio and the electric light bulb, the discovery of immunity, the first flight of a satellite and of a human into space, the appearance of the world's first nuclear power plant and other achievements of science and technology. The central exhibits of the 'Autobiography' exhibition will be a model of the historic building that tells the story of its construction and a model of the legendary Great Auditorium, beside which visitors can hear an audio drama dedicated to the poetic duel between Vladimir Mayakovsky and Igor Severyanin. The exhibition includes replicas of exhibits, rare archival documents, posters and photographs that recount key events in the museum's history and its diverse collections. The exhibition features a rich multimedia layer — "immersion zones" will tell about the museum's founding fathers, its unique collection of scientific and technical objects, and the turning points in its life.
