Exhibition 'Astrakhan Region in the 19th–20th Centuries'

The exhibition consists of three sections located in separate halls: 'Urban Interiors of the 19th–20th Centuries' – this section is intended to demonstrate the everyday life and culture of Astrakhan residents of different social classes. The main exhibition technique in this complex is the interior display – a reconstruction of the domestic and work-area furnishings of a townsman's home of that era; 'Astrakhan Governors' – this section introduces the history of the Astrakhan Governorate through the stories of its leaders – Astrakhan military and civilian governors – presented within the authentic interior of a governor's office; 'Astrakhan Region in the 20th Century' – this section presents the most complex and dramatic period of Russian history. Its spirit is most easily conveyed through art, so the section includes around 50 works from the collection of the Astrakhan Museum-Reserve.
