Exhibition "Jasper Room — a Treasure of Orenburg"
About exhibition
In a historic building the Jasper Room is open on a permanent basis. It was created from material from the Orsk deposit — the famous Mount Polkovnik — and was conceived and executed by Orenburg craftsmen. Twenty-three tons of rock were processed to create the Jasper Room; after cutting and polishing, only three tons were used in the interior. The material used was collected over 30 years. Nine panels displayed in the Jasper Room are unique for their blue tint. The room exhibits examples of jewelry and artisanal work by lapidary masters of the Orenburg region. Some exhibits, such as the "matryoshka vases," are a technological breakthrough and a vivid demonstration of the advancement of stone-processing craftsmanship. Phone for inquiries: +7 (3532) 30-70-38.
