In the museum halls visitors will see a permanent exhibition made up of several sections. Guests are welcomed by the "Moskvin House" exhibition. Authentic items from the Moskvin family immerse visitors in the atmosphere of urban life at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. On the second floor there is a unique archaeological collection, "Antiquities of the Arzamas Region", covering the period from the Paleolithic era to the 15th century. It features household items, tools, women's and men's jewelry, and horse harness equipment. The exhibition reflects the history of settlement in the Arzamas region. The main section presents the history of Arzamas and the Arzamas district from ancient times to the beginning of the 20th century: the Arzamas fortress, peasant uprisings, trades and crafts, urban and rural life, education and healthcare. The pride of the museum is the art department devoted to the history of Russia's first private painting school, founded in Arzamas in 1802 by the academician Stupin.
