Exhibition "Architect Yevgeny Poltoratsky: On the 100th Anniversary of His Birth"
About exhibition
The exhibition is dedicated to the work of Leningrad architect and artist Yevgeny Mikhailovich Poltoratsky (1925–2006). As head of Workshop No. 7 at Lenproekt, E. M. Poltoratsky made a significant contribution to the formation of the architectural appearance of the Kirov, Krasnoselsky and Primorsky districts of the city, as well as Kronstadt. Despite the dominance of strict requirements and standards of typical construction, the architect sought to individualize the appearance of new districts by creating original designs. The embodiment of his ideas is Block No. 28 in Sosnovaya Polyana, where the dominant feature is the "snake" house designed by Poltoratsky. The exhibition presents about 70 items from the collections of the State Museum of the History of St. Petersburg and the Poltoratsky family archive: architectural and artistic drawings, photographs and the master's personal belongings. The project continues the museum's series of monographic exhibitions dedicated to the architects of Petersburg–Leningrad.
