Exhibition "Archaeological Heritage of the Tuapsinsky District"

About exhibition

The exhibition introduces visitors to the archaeological monuments of the Tuapsinsky District and the unique finds collected on its territory. Among them: an Acheulean handaxe indicating the life of prehistoric humans about 250,000 years ago; a dolmen from the 3rd–2nd millennium BC that has preserved the secrets of ancient ritual structures; a rare exhibit — the burial of an Adyghe warrior from the 14th century; ancient amphorae; medieval combat weapons; and much more. Most of the archaeological exhibits came to the N.G. Poletaev Museum thanks to archaeologist and local historian Madin Teshev, who had a deep love for the history of his homeland and devoted his life to searching for material traces of the past. Madim Kambolotovich carefully described the artifacts found during excavations and incorporated them into the museum's harmonious exhibition.
