In the archaeology hall the history of ancient settlements located on the territory of the town of Zarechny and its surroundings is presented. The exhibition pays particular attention to the history of the Zolotarevskoye hillfort — a monument of the 3rd–12th centuries, where in 1237 a major battle took place between its defenders and the Tatar–Mongols advancing westward. Visitors will learn about the oldest historical sites found on the territory of Zarechny. These include the Akhunskoye I hillfort and three settlements: Zarechenskoye, 'Ovrag Chemodan' (Chemodan Ravine), and Zarechenskoye I settlement. Centuries and millennia ago they formed a single complex of settlements that included a fortified stronghold (hillfort) and several residential villages.
