Exhibition 'Yalutorovsk: From Ostrog to Town'

About exhibition

The exhibition will take the visitor through the centuries, from the founding of the ostrog in 1659 to a prosperous town at the beginning of the 20th century. Here you can see historical artifacts and reproductions of archival materials that illustrate the distinctive development of a small town: models of the ostrog, flour mills, as well as a large-scale fragment of S. U. Remezov's map, tools used by plowmen and butter-makers, and a peasant homestead as an exemplar of Siberian everyday life. A distinctive feature of the exhibition is that it will be continually updated, revealing more facets of Yalutorovsk's history. Thanks to this, visitors will be able to learn new names, facts, and secrets of the past.
