The exhibition is dedicated to the 145th anniversary of the birth of artist, writer, sculptor and thinker Yefim Vasilyevich Chestnyakov. Despite a difficult fate, he believed in the transformative power of art throughout his life. That is why the fairy-tale world and its inhabitants, created by the artist's imagination, are depicted in his paintings and drawings as if they were real. The exhibition includes the artist's best paintings, clay figures, documents and personal belongings of the Shablov master. Thanks to the exhibition, you will get to know Yefim Chestnyakov better and the spirit of peasantry he tried to preserve and reflect in his works. Guided tours are available by appointment.
