Exhibition '30 Years of Service to the Motherland of Rear Admiral N. F. Matyushin'

The exhibition was opened on the eve of the birthday of the submariner and deputy chairman of the executive committee of the Regional Public Organization of Admirals and Naval Generals, the 'Admirals' Club', Nikolai Faefanovich Matyushin. He was born in the workers' settlement of Balanda (the name by which Kalininsk was then known) in Saratov Oblast. The exhibition features more than 50 items donated to the museum by Nikolai Faefanovich. These include photographs, documents, books, the St. Andrew's flag and a ship's bell from a surface ship, the USSR flag and a clock from a submarine, ceremonial and everyday naval uniforms, and souvenir items from the 'Admirals' Club'. Also on display is a model of the nuclear submarine P-6 (K-131), on which from 1969 to 1972 N. F. Matyushin served as commander of the control group of the missile combat unit of the first crew. There is also a seashell of the helmet-shell family, recovered from the water in one of the bays of the South China Sea.
