Moscow Museum of Design and the State Tretyakov Gallery present a new exhibition that will serve as a guide to the styles and concepts of domestic design — from the revolutionary ideas of the avant‑garde to contemporary trends. The exhibition project will show what is distinctive and unique about design in our country, and will also reflect the connections between contemporary design and the cultural and industrial heritage. The exposition covers 110 years. The count begins with the legendary “Last Futurist Exhibition 0.10,” which took place in Saint Petersburg in 1915. It was there that landmark works were presented, such as Kazimir Malevich’s “Black Square” and Vladimir Tatlin’s “Corner Counter‑Relief,” which became the starting point for Suprematism and Constructivism. These movements not only shaped the face of Russian design but also influenced the whole world. The exhibition “110 | Russian Design 1915–2025” will become a permanent display of the Moscow Museum of Design in the West Wing of the New Tretyakov Gallery. More than 700 objects are shown here, and movements such as Futurism, Suprematism, Constructivism, Post‑Constructivism, Art Deco and Neoclassicism, Organic and Cosmic Modernism, Functionalism, and Postmodernism are covered; the theme of Russian and Soviet cultural codes is raised, and phenomena such as art design and collectible design are reflected. The exhibition is held in the West Wing of the New Tretyakov Gallery, Hall 3.
