The museum's outreach educational events held at institutions across Mordovia are not limited to lectures. Schoolchildren and students can learn about the work of academician of historical and portrait painting Ivan Kuzmich Makarov, Russian art of the 17th–20th centuries, contemporary national and visual art by artists of Mordovia, and many other topics. The main emphasis is on the works of sculptor S. D. Erzia and painter F. V. Sychkov. Each express exhibition includes works from the museum's extensive reproduction collection. Replicas of Stepan Erzia's works are tactile, while reproductions of Fedot Sychkov's paintings are accompanied by aromatic/scent combinations.
