About exhibition
You can visit the main exhibitions of the museum's three sites. In the Pogankin Chambers you will see various thematic exhibitions dedicated to the history of the city of Pskov and the merchant chambers. The halls feature an exhibition of bells, icons depicting Pskov, the office of merchant Pogankin, a hall of international trade, paintings of Old Pskov, a numismatic collection (part of the largest hoard ever found during excavations in Pskov, discovered near the museum quarter) and other exhibitions. The Pskov Museum's Picture Gallery presents more than three hundred works by Russian painters and sculptors, reflecting four centuries of Russian art; works by foreign artists are also included. The Main Building hosts an exhibition of portraits from the 18th–20th centuries that are not part of the Picture Gallery's main display. Visitors will see works by both obscure artists and renowned masters: S. K. Zaryanko, I. N. Kramskoy, V. E. Makovsky, P. F. Sokolov, K. A. Somov, P. de Rotari, K. L. Khristinek and others. Some portraits will be shown for the first time. You can also view authentic items from the Great Patriotic War (exhibition 'The Pskov Region during the Great Patriotic War').
