Program "The Whole Museum"
About exhibition
Your journey through the museum begins with the Ancient Russian Art exhibition, which reveals the subtleties and secrets of icon-making, the meanings of iconographic symbols and the recipes for ancient paints. The Karelian Art exhibition reflects the historical development of the region's visual arts. The section on Russian art of the 18th–early 20th century allows you to trace the history of Russian art while enjoying masterpieces by I. Aivazovsky, I. Shishkin, I. Repin, V. Polenov, I. Levitan and other masters. The Western European Art exhibition will introduce you to paintings and sculptures by artists of the Dutch, Venetian, German and French schools from the 16th–20th centuries. Of particular interest is the "Universe of Kalevala", dedicated to the Kalevala epic. The interactive exhibition is an immersive journey along the paths of ancient legends and ancestral traditions. The program also includes the museum's temporary exhibition.
