An offer for guests of Novgorod Oblast: a single ticket grants access to the main museums of Veliky Novgorod and to one of the branches of the Novgorod State Museum-Reserve. In Staraya Russa, where F. M. Dostoevsky created his works, you can visit his House-Museum and the Museum of the novel “The Brothers Karamazov.” Alternatively, you can choose the Museum of the Northwestern Front, which preserves the history of the victory. At the Local History Museum you can see a distinctive archaeological exhibition and an art gallery. By visiting one of the selected branches in Staraya Russa as part of the “Treasures of Russia” promotion, you will have the opportunity to explore the most significant museums of Novgorod: the Vladychnaya (Faceted) Chamber – the only Gothic 15th-century building in Russia, housing a unique collection of Russian and Byzantine jewelry; the Museum of the Great Bridge – the story of the medieval engineering marvel that linked the banks of the Volkhov; the Church of the Savior on Ilyina – a pilgrimage site for experts of Byzantine painting from around the world, where original frescoes by Theophanes the Greek have been preserved; the Building of Prisutstvennye Mesta – a historical exhibition telling the story of life in the first capital of Rus' over the centuries.
