Program "Main Building and Gallery Exhibition"

About exhibition

The program entitles the holder to view all temporary exhibitions as well as the permanent exhibition of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts (Main Building and Gallery) at a convenient time during the day. In the main building's permanent exhibition you can see foreign art from various countries and periods from the earliest times up to the early 19th century: an extensive collection of tinted plaster casts of works from Antiquity, the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, monuments of Ancient Egypt, the treasures discovered by Heinrich Schliemann during the excavations of Troy, and works by outstanding European artists of the Renaissance and modern times – Sandro Botticelli, Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn, Peter Paul Rubens, El Greco, Nicolas Poussin, Antoine Watteau. In the Gallery of Art of the countries of Europe and America of the 19th–20th centuries visitors will see masterpieces of French Impressionism, Post-Impressionism and the avant-garde movements of the early 20th century. These include world-famous works by Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Edgar Degas, Paul Cézanne, Vincent van Gogh, Paul Gauguin, Henri Matisse and Pablo Picasso. Painting and sculpture of Romanticism, Realism, Academicism, the art of Symbolism, Abstractionism and other artistic movements of the 20th century are also represented here.
