Permanent exhibition 'Russian Style'
About exhibition
The museum hosts a permanent exhibition of Elena Pelevina — a well-known Russian fashion designer and artist. In 1977 she graduated with honors from the Moscow Technological Institute, Faculty of Applied Arts. Her diploma project supervisor was Vyacheslav Zaitsev. Elena Pelevina’s collection has travelled to 45 countries and is famous for the fact that she is the only Russian designer whose costumes were included in the collection of one of the world’s leading museums — the Metropolitan Museum in New York. The renowned French designer Pierre Cardin ordered fabrics for his collection from Elena Pelevina, which also speaks to the international recognition of her talent. Elena promotes the traditions of Russian applied arts. She gained international acclaim for collections of clothing and accessories made from natural fabrics, hand-painted and skillfully decorated with appliqué, bugle beads, wooden elements or freshwater pearls. The exhibition features costumes made in various techniques from different fabrics, stunning fabric panels and magnificent dolls in luxurious original outfits.
