The permanent exhibition "Life and Work of N. M. Dyakonov" reveals the life and creative path of the well-known Komi Soviet playwright, laureate of the USSR State Prize and Honored Artist of the RSFSR, Nikolai Mikhailovich Dyakonov, author of the famous play 'The Wedding with a Dowry'. The permanent exhibition at the N. M. Dyakonov Museum, dedicated to the celebrated playwright, evokes emotions and memories in visitors every year. The guide's narration unfolds Nikolai Mikhailovich Dyakonov's life and artistic journey. Visitors can see a number of exhibits directly connected to the playwright and his work. The exhibition features a wooden model of the house with minute details where N. M. Dyakonov once lived. Set against a panoramic photo zone of the playwright's native region is his bust, created by the well-known sculptor Anatoly Iosifovich Neverov. Visitors' special attention is drawn to the manual typewriter on which N. M. Dyakonov typed his plays; for modern visitors this item is already a rarity and a symbol of the past. Handwritten and printed plays, certificates, awards and editions of 'The Wedding with a Dowry' from different years are presented in showcases. On display panels and in glass cubes are theater programs from various years and black-and-white photographs of the production 'The Wedding with a Dowry' staged by theaters of the Soviet Union and other countries.
